YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
How VitiStay collects, uses and protects information when you browse our website, contact us or begin a booking.
1. Who we are
VitiStay is a Fiji accommodation and travel information website. In this policy, “VitiStay”, “we” and “us” refer to the operator of this website. Contact details published on our Contact page may be used for privacy questions.
2. Information we collect
When you contact us or submit an enquiry, we may receive your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, preferred accommodation, travel dates, number of guests and message. We may also receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location, referring page and cookie identifiers.
3. Booking information
When you use an embedded booking engine or follow a booking link, information may be collected directly by our booking provider, such as Smoobu, and by payment providers. Their privacy terms apply to information they control. VitiStay does not intentionally store full payment-card details on this website.
4. How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries; check requested accommodation options; support bookings and stays; operate, secure and improve the website; measure website performance; prevent spam or misuse; comply with legal obligations; and keep business records. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted, and you may unsubscribe.
5. Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies may support security, language preferences and website operation. If enabled, analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity may measure visits and interactions. Non-essential tools should be loaded according to the consent choices presented on the website. Browser settings can also restrict cookies.
6. WhatsApp and external links
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or another external service, that provider processes information under its own terms. Links to third-party websites do not mean VitiStay controls their privacy practices.
7. Sharing information
We may share necessary information with accommodation operators, booking and payment providers, technology suppliers, professional advisers and public authorities where legally required. Suppliers should receive only the information needed to perform their services. We do not sell or rent guest data.
8. International processing and retention
Some service providers may process information outside your country. Safeguards depend on the provider and applicable law. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for enquiries, bookings, legal obligations, dispute handling and security, after which it is deleted or anonymised where practical.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including restricted access and HTTPS where deployed. No internet system is completely secure, so please do not send payment-card numbers, passwords or highly sensitive information by ordinary email or WhatsApp.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or request a portable copy. We may need to verify your identity and retain information where law requires it.
11. Children
This website is intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian should provide any information needed for a child’s booking.
12. Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version and update date will appear on this page. For privacy requests, use the contact details on our Contact page and write “Privacy request” in the subject line.
